Tax lawyers & tax advisory in Lahore

Discuss income tax, sales tax, FBR or PRA notices, return preparation and tax disputes with the firm. Arif Chaudhry is a retired Assistant Commissioner FBR and tax adviser. Start by identifying the authority, tax year or period and the notice or filing question you want reviewed.

Returns and registration enquiries

Prepare a list of your income sources, available tax registrations and the relevant year. Ask which records the adviser needs for your circumstances. Do not send IRIS passwords, OTPs or full financial statements through the public website or information guide.

Responding to a tax notice

Keep every page of the notice, any referenced correspondence and earlier submissions together. Record the date received and any response date shown. The adviser must review the notice and applicable rules before confirming the required response or a deadline.

Understand the quotation

Ask whether the proposed fee covers registration, return preparation, reconciliation, a notice response or representation. These are different scopes of work. Clarify any additional charges and the documents still needed before engaging the firm.

Common questions before booking

Is the tax return date the same for everyone?

No. The taxpayer type, tax year and applicable extensions matter. Check FBR’s official information and have the adviser confirm the date for your circumstances.

Do I need to share my account password in the initial call?

No. Explain the issue and arrange an appropriate process with the firm; do not post passwords or access codes in a public chat.
