Write down the property location and the issue: ownership, possession, a transfer, tenancy or inheritance. Explain your relationship to the property and identify other people or proceedings involved.
List the records you already hold
Gather available registry or transfer papers, allotment documents, revenue records, tenancy papers, receipts and correspondence. Punjab Land Records Authority publishes information about Fard services. A lawyer can explain which records need checking for your particular matter.
Separate documents from assumptions
Make a list of missing records and disputed events. Do not alter a document or present a family understanding as though it were an official record. Keep originals safe and agree how copies should be shared with the lawyer.
Ask about the review and costs
Ask which authority or court may be relevant, what additional information is needed and what work the proposed fee includes. Searches, copies and proceedings may involve different expenses. The initial conversation should clarify the task, not promise a result before review.
